Women make up 40% of mountaineers. Less than 7% of high-altitude research includes them. It's time to change that.
ISHARE is the world's first all-women's high-altitude medical expedition, climbing to 7,246m (23,773ft) in Nepal to collect urgently needed data on how women's bodies perform at high altitude.

Vision
For decades, high-altitude medicine has been built on research done almost entirely on men. There are very few studies on women at high altitude and no definitive answers about how women's bodies respond. ISHARE exists to change that with an all-women team of scientists, climbers, and Sherpa women working together at 7,246 meters.
Goals
Summit
Summit Putha Hiunchuli (7,246m) with an all-women team of climbers, guides, and expedition staff.
Research
Collect comparative data on pre- and post-menopausal Sherpa women and women not adapted to high altitude, filling a significant gap in high-altitude research.
Partnership
Build lasting international partnerships between women in science and mountaineering around the world.
